Mr. Potts writes to his sister in New Jersey that there are lead mines within 60 miles and plenty of minerals of every kind. The game and wildlife are plentiful and the land is fertile and cheap. He says he thinks "no more of killing bear, buffalo, elk, deer in Arkansas than he would of killing a rabbit or squirrel back home [in Pennsylvania.]"
